Whilst the Miss South Pacific Pageant has been around since 1987, Fiji was finally nominated and included in the Board of Directors of the Miss South Pacific Pageant (Inc.) in 1995.
Fiji was last represented in the pageant in 2002 and after a lapse of six years, was finally represented again last year by the Vodafone Miss Hibiscus 2008 Queen, Miss Filomena Tuivanualevu.
The Hibiscus Event Ground (Inc.)won the bid to host the Miss South Pacific Pageant 2009 in Suva, Fiji. This is the first time ever that Fiji is hosting this prestigious event.
The Hibiscus Event Group (Inc.) will promote, manage, and source funding for the PBS Miss South Pacific Pageant 2009.
